Happy 10 th Anniversary to the DAWN Family!! All members of DAWN-Japan are one with you in celebrating the 10 th Anniversary of DAWN!

DAWN-Japan was launched in 1998 as a partner of DAWN in Japan , through the effort of ‘Tita' Yoko Nakazawa, the honorable founder of DAWN-Japan. Now, there are more than 15 active volunteer-members of DAWN-Japan, who communicate mainly through the Internet, as well as during our regular meetings in Tokyo . Although we are scattered all over Japan and even overseas because of the individual work or study, each member tries to maximize his/her skills and time to be a member of DAWN Family.

DAWN-Japan has been assisting in DAWN's programs and activities, including networking. We are glad to say that through our efforts, more and more people in Japan are becoming interested in DAWN and DAWN-Japan's activities. Proof of this is the increasing number of people who participate in our study tours to Manila . Last year, we also published the Japanese version of “Pains & Gains,” a publication of DAWN Philippines , with the help of our various supporters.

Our DAWN Family is a great source of inspiration for us. The reunion with the children, through the Akebono Theater Tour in Japan , as well as during our visit to Manila , have always given us a lot of encouragement. Hugs and conversations with DAWN women members have always made us feel at home. And, discussions and collaboration with the staff and other volunteers have always given us great opportunities to be exposed to new challenges.

Through our partnership, we hope to encourage more people to recognize the rights of migrant women and their children.

We look forward to a stronger and longer partnership with DAWN.
